How To Create a Website and Be Found
The actual way to create a website is a working process. Sure, having a website is fine, but don’t you want to be seen as well?
It’s nice to think that once you build it they will come, but without being out there, how can they come in a world with so much competing companies and solopreneurs.
I say, just like in the day, way back in the day when men played with swords and guns and wanted to be the ONE; You have to go grab it, and you take it; Earn your spot!
And creating a website is no different! You have to get out there…
It takes work, but work pays off. Don’t be a lazy butt!
Create a Website With a Theme
I have to say, that after everything is added, except for the content on my main pages, I am ready to add a theme or style the site.
I have many to choose from, but I will use a great theme called Divi (affiliate link), simple and easy to use.
I cannot create a homepage yet, because, at the time of this writing, I am not indexed yet, but I will add social buttons, so that I can use to make it easy for me to share my own content to popular sites such as Twitter, Facebook, GooglePlus, Buffer, StumbleUpon, Dig, Diggo, Delicious, Tumblr and the like.
And I will use them all using Divi, because they are included.
After I do that, I will go ping those posts on those sites, plus add them to directories with a link back to this site.
I will have to add that this is a good time for me to create a gmail account, for this site, along with a YouTube channel and a Blogger Blog. Perhaps another wordpress.com page; but for now, I will continue using the one I have now.
After writing this post, I will add these buttons, and change the theme. Which may cause me to make more edits.
You May ask “If You are Creating a Website..”
Why not start with a theme, and that is a fair question.
I will work with the theme provided before I select the theme I will use, only so that I can get it out there.
And the answer to that is I am working fast. I could have started with the theme from the get go, but, as I had mentioned before on the Creating a Website post, I kinda like to work backwards, but it’s up to you on how you work.
And if you are watching this now, I am using Cobalts.
Also because this is just a site about me, Carlos Cortez, I am not sure which categories I will use at the time.
As mentioned above, those social buttons, I will go to the site itself, and ping them, then will share it to other sites that point to those pages.
Yes, to my accounts on the sites I mentioned above and all of them will point to my site.
I know that I am thinking in my head way faster than I type, and it would be perfect to show you on video on this approach because it’s how I have been creating websites for a long time.
But to do that right now will be futile, since this is a new site.
So that is the next step in how to create a website.
Getting it out there! All out there.
Add your pages, add content or not, but get your posts be out there, so the search engines can see it.
With anything that you do, you have to include where you started, and how you started, with a main keyword and secondary keywords, (LSI) keywords.
For this site, keywords include Carlos Cortez and how to create a website. But I am also letting you know how to get found as well.
I mean, who wants a website lost to the world, you need to get it out there.
